"Counting Knives" by Mad Choppa featuring Cody Frost

Well, here it is! Definitely outside of my usual style, right? Exactly!

Choppa hit me up to collaborate on this piece sometime in late May. He originally just wanted the vocals in the chorus to have a bit more of a hard-rock / metal approach than the original version. To clarify, his message asking if I even wanted to do it was in my inbox at like 11:30 at night, and by 2:00 AM I had just taken the track and done probably 40-50 approaches over the chorus before I even talked to him about it.

So, we finally chat about it on the phone and I throw out there that I already have the chorus and a few guitar ideas on it already. Which probably is what catapulted it into us knowing we're kindred spirits in both work ethic and humorous vulgarity. Which; to those who know me best personally I say "fret not", because I sure as fuck will not be sparing any of myself to save face on this blog just cause it's the all mighty internet.

So about a week and a half or so later, we have all the layers and enough offline peer-reviews of the process to give us the big-dick attitude to say "it's done!". So here you are, it's done and we're stoked.
